A Pair Of Baroque Giltwood And Gesso Wall Mirrors
About the Item
Introducing a Pair of Baroque Giltwood and Gesso Wall Mirrors from Circa 1700 and later. This remarkable set offers a touch of 18th-century grandeur, featuring rectangular plates framed with intricate 'C' scrolls, flowers, and winged cherubs. The pedimented surmount boasts billowing clouds, adding to its distinctive charm.
This pair of Baroque Giltwood and Gesso Wall Mirrors share an affinity with mirrors produced in Germany and Holland in the early 18th century. See Graham Child, World Mirrors 1650-1900. A mirror in the manner of Friedrich Unteutsch and a Dutch overmantel with similar cherub decoration.
A stunning and one of a kind piece of history.
