Pair Of French 19th Century Napoleon III Period Louis XV St. Giltwood Mirrors

About the Item

An impressive pair of French 19th century Napoleon III Period Louis XV st. Giltwood mirrors. The beautifully decorated pair of mirrors have "S" scrolled foliate designs on the bottom corners below a spiraling laurel vine following the smooth and concave outer edge. The inner trim surrounding the mirror plate is tastefully decorated by an uninterrupted carved arbalest designed band with burnished cabochon carvings throughout. The laurel vines end at the rounded top corners which flank the central curve frame. At the top is a wonderful and richly carved pierced crown with "S" scrolled acanthus leaves flanked by berried foliage. All original giltwood and mirror plates throughout.
