Pair of large carved and gilt wood floral mirrors
French, 19th century
Measures: Height 210cm, width 132cm, depth 30cm
Each mirror in this pair features a richly carved and warmly gilt wooden frame. The frame of each is carved in a striking naturalistic manner: the structure resembles branches, which are laden with holly leaves and winding vines and interspersed with holly berries. The top of each mirror is crowned with an elaborate pierced holly spray, while the bottom features a smaller holly spray to the centre. The mirrors are superb examples of the crafted of wood carving.
