Regency Period Pediment Mirror, Floral Decorations, Golden Carved Wood, 18th

About the Item

This pediment mirror is from the Regency period. It is entirely in carved and gilded wood. Also, this mirror has a pediment with floral decorations and is in good condition. In addition, the mirror is original and rests on its original parquet. Finally, very slight accidents are visible on the frame. 18th century work.

This antique mirror from France features an exaggerated arch pediment top with dentil molding beneath the top trim and pair of rosy-cheeked cherub faces carved within a cloudy-ray sunburst featured prominently at top center. The arched mirror is flanked within Roman Corinthian style columns, and bell-flower trim molding adorns the inner surround. The lower frame is embellished with a floral and bow-tied ribbon motif.
