Italian Modern Burled Walnut Bedside Tables in the Style of Paolo Buffa
About the Item
A Pair of very Elegant Mid-Century Modern nightstands in the style of Paolo Buffa datable around the 1950s
These bedside table were made in Italy with fine materials like Burled Walnut, Mahogany veneer and solid maple and the different types of wood and veneer used create an elegant chromatic contrast.
The intense color of the mahogany's veneered wood of the cabinet creates a nice break with the double door in Burled Walnut while the maple wood dilutes it.
The two splendid hand carved acanthus leaves, that decorate the front legs of the bedside tables, recall for color and Material the the wood frame that surrounds the doors.
The doors close thanks to two magnets visible in the photo and the handles are chiseled in brass.
On the back of the bedside tables there is a handwritten label of the time on which the name of the furniture factory was noted
