1950s Italian Art Deco Mid-Century Modern Bed Frame with Floating Nightstands

Beautiful Italian 1950s bed head with 2 floating nightstands on the sides. The nightstands have one drawers and onix lacquered glass top. The piece has a great design and is amazingly worked using Italian Walnut, in a typical species grown on sandy terrain and for longer time so to have a unique natural graining, perfect for this elegant and classy finish. This charming piece is in the typical style of main Italian Art Deco and Mid-Century Modern designers such as Gio Ponti, Vittorio Dassi, Melchiorre Bega, Guglielmo Ulrich, Paolo Buffa and Luisa and Ico Parisi. The distinguishing features of this renowned Italian style, inspired by Art Deco and that influenced both successive Mid-Century Modern and shiny brass Hollywood Regency, consist of a Classic and elegant look with very detailed finishing and decorations coupled with a selection of noble materials and craftmanship. Those pieces have immediate recognition in every interior decor, the clean lines with minimal fuss, a balance of design precision and warmth that comes from uncluttered and sleek lines with both organic and geometric curves and forms where functionality is important. Being an Italian sized bed, to use with an American mattress it is best to know the dimensions of the actual mattress to be used, because actual sizes may differ from the nominal standard.
