"Lore" Bed, Contemporary Shaker-Style Solid Wood and Brass King or Queen Bed

The "Lore bed" features a solid wood headboard pinned into slots in the posts with brass dowels. All outer edges of the legs feature elegant round-overs that soften the piece and make it a more inviting element.
Hardwood slats can be placed at a level so that the top of a mattress rests slightly above the bottom of the headboard.
Hand built to order in bed size and finish of your choice. Available in two heights.

About The Maker
Jacob may is an Oakland, California-based design company founded in 2013 by woodworker and designer Dave Ball. The company specializes in producing classic american furniture and accessories that are simple, elegant and made ethically from sustainable materials. Dave oversees a small crew of craftsmen and -women who assist him in building his designs into heirloom quality pieces that are guaranteed for life against manufacturer issues.
Each new design is a labor of love: built, deconstructed then re-built until all the elements have been unified and pared down into their most essential form. Finishing practices used at the studio reflect the belief that furniture grows more beautiful and unique with age and use. The Jacob May studio works with partners that share its aesthetic sensibilities as well as it commitment to meticulous design, ethical practices and local manufacturing.
