About the Item
This elegant bed has an amazing history, it was designed and made in Germany for Frauke Lauterbach and Paul Martin.
Paul Martin was a Hungarian film director and screen writer, who worked for many years in German film industry. He directed 60 films between 1932-1967. He was romantically involved with the film star Lilian Harvey and later left her for Frauke Lauterbach.
Frauke Lauterbach started her career in Vienna as a dancer for Gertrude Bodenwieser a free style dance group. She was also a model and actress.
In the 1930s she was considered the most beautiful woman in Vienna.
Paul Martin and Frauke Lauterbach remained together the rest of their lives.
The bed was purchased from the estate of F.L.
