Early 20th century, finest quality AND condition Art Deco nightstands. We are proud to offer these top-quality masterpieces from the heydays of the Art Deco period. The combination of the stylish lines in the design and the beautiful materials that were used, make this modernist and hand-crafted pair an absolute joy to own, use and look at. It is clear that these cabinets are the work of a master cabinet maker and a great designer, because this top quality pair is truly special. The avangardistic design must have been a real challenge for the cabinet maker, but he too has done a magnificent job. The shape of the doors and the way they hinge is just one of several magnificent details. The birds eye maple interior behind the doors and the porcelain interior in the center creates extra depth against the contrasting, darker burl walnut exterior which is a real visual treat. These nightstands are the strongest and heaviest we ever had and they are as stable as the day they were made. Apart from a truly minor discoloration underneath the laquered finish on top (see image 8 & 9) they are of museum quality and condition. The porcelain interiors are mint and so are the inlaid, cut glass tops that are kept in place by perfect brass brackets. Both drawers come with a perfect working lock and the original key is extra long, because of the thickness of the stunning drawers.
