A fabulous pair of vintage Italian Neo-classical original hand-painted nightstands. Born in Italy in the mid-20th century, hand-crafted in timeless 18th century Neoclassical inspired Louis XVI taste, solid wood construction, having a greige rectangular single board top, over conforming case in antique cream - pale yellow hue paint finish, fitted with two drawers affixed with patinated brass pulls, three sides decorated with polychrome ribbon bows and floral foliate scrolls, gold accents, rising on tapering square legs, with beautifully aged distressed patina over the whole. circa 1940s Dimensions: (approx) Each: 23.5" High, 19" Wide, 11.5" Deep Versatile, having the ideal smaller size and petite proportions for a variety of different uses, including bedside cabinet, chair side table, sofa end table, diminutive chest of drawers commode, lamp stands, and more. Condition: Great original unrestored antique / vintage condition with beautifully aged heavily worn intentionally distressed patina. Strong, sturdy, stable, structurally sound. Wear consistent with 80 years of age and indicative of use, including minor scattered chips, nicks, scratches and typical losses throughout. Nothing that detracts from the display or functionality but only adds to the sophisticated antique character, elegant rustic warmth, and rich historical depth that can only be acquired over long periods of time!
