About the Item
Elegant side tables or night stands by Jean Claude Mahey in burr poplar Wood and brass details from the 70s. Each consisting of 3 drawers and beautifully framed by the brass strips which highlight the aspect of the wood through the brass angles. Excellent condition with no signs of wear on the surface of the wood. Artist’s signature on the lower front.

Mahey is known for his use of luxurious materials such as brass, mahogany and glass. He has created furniture, lighting and accessories for brands such as Hermès, Pierre Cardin and Saks Fifth Avenue. His designs are characterized by clean, elegant lines, with particular attention to detail and the quality of materials. Mahey was recognized for his work by winning numerous awards, including the prestigious Prix René Gabriel in 1977. Mahey died in 1992, but his creations are still sought after by collectors and design enthusiasts. His contribution to the aesthetics of French design is widely recognized and appreciated
