Powder magazine for muzzle-loading weapons. Carved pole, 18th century. Muzzle-loading powder magazine for firearms made from an animal horn, decorated with a series of carvings and completed with a braided twine and a piece of wood as a cover. On one of the sides a natural landscape appears (alluded to by two trees, some plants and rocks), with a deer walking along it; As on the other side, the composition closes with a smooth stripe that creates curves reminiscent of a heraldic shield. The other carving is a view of a city, located under a tondo with the IHS crowned by a Latin cross, and walled; the aforementioned closure here has a two-scroll top and a rhombus. The “base” of the container has another, simple, vegetable or geometric theme made with lines. The walled city could be Jerusalem or another, while the "IHS" is the monogram of Christ (extended by San Bernardo, used by San Vicente Ferrer and San Bernardino de Siena, adopted by San Ignacio...
