This lavishly illustrated book charts Art Nouveau’s development internationally. An overarching aesthetic movement that is defining of the Belle Époque era. Flourished in France originally, quickly flowed into the mainstream decorative arts makers and merchants across Europe, with independent strands in each country, it converged into a magnificent flow of organic shapes. Nowadays we can find these examples of architecture, ceramics and glasswares in Vienna, Brussels, Munich, Glasgow, and as far North as Helsinki. This magnificent volume captures the utopian ecstasy in the 1910s that gave rise to the ravishing creation that is Art Nouveau.
