Pair of 1st Ed hardcovers, no dust jackets as issued. Volume 1, 114 pp. with several b&w illustrations. With topics: Palladio, Palladianism and Palladianists 1570-1730; Palladio in Southside Virginia: Brandon and Battersea; Pattern Books in American Architecture 1730-1930; and Palladio in Tidewater Virginia: Mount Airy and Blandfield. Volume 2, 150 pp. with multiple b&w illustrations, is devoted to Annapolis and Maryland. Includes: Annapolis Plan, Sir Robert Taylor and William Buckland (Architects,) Pattern Book Phenomenon, Four Men, The Four Books, And The Five-Part House. The Center for Palladian Studies in America, Inc. (CPSA) engages in research and other activities relating to the work of architect Andrea Palladio. CPSA was founded as a national non-profit membership corporation in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 1979.
