Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley's legendary horror story is presented in an illustrated Heritage Press edition.
Handsome edition of young Mary Shelley's classic tale of horror, with an Introduction by Edmund L. Pearson and four-color illustrations on full-page plates throughout the 257 pages. Orig. published with these special contents by George Macy's Limited Editions Club in 1934, this is the first Heritage Press Edition (First, thus) from 1950 (no date in book), not the newer reprint!
Orig. issued with a slipcase (missing) no Dust Jacket, as issued.
Possibly published c.1950s-60s, though 1934 date appears in book.
Bound in grey and purple tweedy full cloth-covered boards with purple illustration, decorations, and titling on cover & spine; purple topstain.
This hardcover book is in vintage condition.
Pages creamy white with a moderate tanning to outer margins all around, completely unmarked.
Toning/darkening to spine & some random soiled spots/smudges to both boards.
