Gilbert Poillerat: Maitre Ferronnier by Francois Baudot (Book)

About the Item

Recognized during his lifetime as one of the great masters of ironwork - as evidenced by the close collaboration with the most renowned decorators of the time such as André Arbus, Jacques Adnet, Jean Pascaud, Jean Royère -, Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988) remains an unknown creator. Begun at the end of the Art Deco period, his body of work, made up of one-of-a-kind pieces or small series - commissioned by public or private - ends with the preliminaries of contemporary design. The fantasy, the quality, the infinite richness of his work currently intersect with the post-functionalist artistic preoccupations of many young contemporary creators. A singular work to discover. 335 pages. Hardback. Text: French. 1890 grams.
