A two volume set of books in as very good condition, which will be an essential addition to any collector or dealers library who specialises in English Furniture. They will help owners, collectors and dealers to identify Gillows furniture and furniture made by other cabinetmakers to the firm's designs. It also has a wider application by offering a firm chronology for the development of different types of western furniture. These books contain extracts from letters, sketch books and ledgers and put together with photographs to show the company's development and history. They are the definitive monograph on Gillows. Now out of print. Volume 1 - 448 pages Volume 2 - 415 pages Includes 688 images and illustrations, most of which are in color.
