DESCRIPTION: JOHN DRINKWATER'S COPY. 1 vol., 9-1/4" x 6-5/8", limited to 300 paper copies, with the leather bookplate of John Drinkwater to the front pastedown additionally signed and dated 1919 by him to the top edge of the front blank endleaf, bound in full limp vellum, vertical gilt lettered spine, by the Doves Bindery, stamped along the lower edge of rear pastedown.
CONDITION: Internally clean and bright, covers straight and true, hinges fine, housed in a blue cloth slipcase, A FRESH BRIGHT AND STRAIGHT COPY.
ADDITIONL INFORMATION: John Drinkwater (June 1, 1882 - March 25, 1937) was an English poet and dramatist. He was known before World War I as one of the Dymock poets, and his poetry was included in all five volumes of Georgian Poetry. After World War I, he achieved fame as a playwright and became closely associated with Birmingham Repertory Theatre.
