First edition 'Le Jardin des Plantes, description et moeurs des mammifèeres de la menagerie et du muséum d'histoire naturelle' by M. Boitard, published 1842. Includes numerous engravings, portraits of Buffon and Cuvier and 4 colored lithographs of birds. Half brown morocco binding, spine with gilded title. The text and illustrations show general age-related toning, minor foxing and wear.
