This superbly illustrated book was originally published alongside an exhibition at the Museum of London. The photographs selected are based on the Museum’s collection, which has been accruing since 1979. Photography was secondary to all other fine arts categories before that, and street photography was regarded as less than secondary. Today, we look at street photography with a renewed interest, it is much valued in its expressive forces rather than formal compositions.
