L'Univers de Madeleine Castaing (Book)
About the Item
This is the sale catalogue produced by Sotheby's in 2004, for sale of the property of Madeleine Castaing, primarily the contents of the house in Leves, not far from Chartres. In her early years she was a budding actress who then found her vocation as an Interior Designer and because she married into a wealthy family she was able to become a patron to up and coming artists in particular Soutine. Well known for her own inimitable style, which comes through in many of the items in this sale.
The catalogue does have some hand written notes, which must have been done at the time of the sale.
