The Norman Adams Legacy 1923-2009 auction catalogue from Sotheby's London of Classic English Furniture London held 21 April 2009. London: Sotheby's, 2009. Soft cover. 184 pp. An auction catalogue of the extraordinary Classic English furniture collection of British antique dealer Norman Adams. Adams began his passion at the age of 18 when he crossed the Atlantic to open a shop in Boston. He was the first dealer who sold only to the trade, turning away both Rockefeller and Henry Ford. In 1928 he returned to England to open a shop in Knightsbridge while still maintaining a presence in New York. The beautiful catalogue is the entire stock of the firm left when it closed after 86 years in the antiques business.
