About the Item

The Timeless Eye: Master Drawings from the Jan and Marie-Anne Krugier-Poniatowski Collection. Berlin: G+H Verlag, 1999. 1st Ed exhibition catalog, from 2 February to 14 May 2000. The Geneva-based collection of Jan and Marie-Anne Krugier-Poniatowski was initiated in the late 1960s with the acquisition of a drawing by the French artist Georges Seurat. Since that first purchase thirty years ago, the Krugier-Poniatowski collection has grown to include more than 400 drawings. The collection, which is well known to experts in the field, has been an active force in the art world since its beginnings, with specific works lent to important exhibitions. However, it is only now at the turn of the century that the collection's owners have decided to make a large selection of drawings available to the public for the first time.
