Two Ming Porcelain Masterpieces from an Important Collection, Sotheby's Hong Kong, October 8, 2019. The sale features two outstanding masterpieces of 15th century blue and white porcelain assembled by a connoisseur with an eye for the finest examples of Chinese porcelain: a Chenghua palace bowl painted with scrolling daylilies and a Xuande reverse-decorated ‘pomegranate’ dish. Sir Q.W. Lee was a banker and philanthropist well-known for his passion for collecting outstanding Chinese works of art. This collection is notable not only for its scale and Scope but as an unerring reflection of Sir Q.W. Lee’s legendary diligence, and integrity as the consummate perfectionist of his time.
