A 1930s silver and black enamel fairy brooch
About the Item
A very well made 1930s continental silver brooch. At the centre of this highly decorative piece, there is a finely cast figure of a seated fairy holding a bouquet of flowers both her wings and the bouquet are decorated with bright paste stones. She is sitting within an oval hoop which is strikingly embellished with an inner ring of black enamel.
This fine brooch is made in two sections which are joined together with wire mounts this is a good sign of quality as is the pin which has a fitted safety catch.
The silver brooch is well marked with a .925 in two places and what appears to be indistinct English import marks.
