Pair of Mid-Century American Navajo Styled Turquoise and Silver Belt Buckles

About the Item

This pair of midcentury silver and turquoise belt buckles are presumed to have been made in the United States in approximately 1965. The buckle pictured in the top features a central inlaid turquoise stone surrounded by metal work resembling stylized leaves. The background is done in a small circular motif bordered by decorated bands which again are banded with wavy lines. This buckle is not marked but believed to be silver. The second buckle in this pairing is marked "Silver" on the back and also features a single inlaid turquoise stone and has four raised corners and a stylized starburst accenting both of these design elements.
