18th Century French Baroque Architectural Fragment
About the Item
A wooden ornament made in 19th century France. The gold and cerulean blue paint has slowly worn away to create a pleasant collage of subtly color variations, including the natural hue of its underlying wood. Foliate acanthus motifs run upwards, left and right creating an organic flow which leads the eye around its alluring composition.
