About the Item

Egyptian revival Pharaoh mechanical pencil. With the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922, "Egyptian Revival" souvenirs became incredibly popular in the Western world. This fantastic propelling mechanical pencil is a great example of the period, made with Art Deco patterns in the likeness of the famous pharaoh and crafted in solid brass and 18kt gold filled parts and decorated with white, blue and green enamel. Fitted with a loop to wear in a chain or necklace. Weight: 19.8 Grams, (12.54 Dwt). Measurements: Fully extended 115.5 mm by 18 mm (4.55 x 0.71 Inches). History: Between the 1860 and 1890, ancient cities were discovered, such as Troy, Pompeii and Alexandria. Archaeological excavations in Egypt, Greece and Rome, discovered artistic pieces of these ancient cultures.
