Princess Mary Box, WWI Era, Christmas, 1914

About the Item

An authentic WWI-era Princess Mary box of brass. A stamped brass box, circa 1914, given as a thank you gift to all commissioned British troops at Christmas 1914 by HRH Princess Mary (daughter of King George V). Originally filled with packets of tobacco or chocolate, the exterior features a cameo of Princess Mary surrounded by cartouches of Britain's allies during the Great War of 1914-1918. This box is referenced in: Fall of Giants by Ken Follett, P.380. A wonderful gift idea, authentic and in excellent condition. Note: There are two available. Each will look similar to the box pictured. Priced individually, $395 each box.
