Set of Two Cow- and Sheep Bells Austrian Mountain Pasture, circa 1900

About the Item

For sale is a beautiful and unique set of to Austrian mountain pasture bells- one of them a cow bell, the other a sheep bell. They were most likely made and in use in the early 1900s. Visible in the pictures is the magnificent patina, that developed on the metallic surfaces over the decades. The leather is nice and shiny. The cow bell seems to have lost its toggle somewhere over the years which was replaced with a screw (see pictures). Both still ring magnificently and the screw is not visible unless viewed from the bottom. Measurements: Cow bell: 54.5x10.5x5.4 cm Sheep bell: 25.5x8.7x8.7 cm.
