Turn of the Century Cast Iron Cobbler’s Anvil

About the Item

This cast iron shoe form makes a lively decorative accent or craftsman’s tool. Built in turn of the century France, this attractive piece would have originally been used by cobblers to make and repair fine leather shoes. Folk-tales associating cobblers with elves and pixies abound, and when looking at these shoe forms its not hard to see why. Brimming with impish personality, the sinuous shape of the dark iron throws an eerie and enthralling silhouette.
