Rare Model of a Sailing Boat, Belgium 1940
About the Item
A rare model of a sailing boat according to the “Tuiga” (Giraf, built in United Kingdom in 1909), one of the few sailing yachts in the 24-30 m. size range. Designed and built by the architect William Fife III for the 12th Duke of Medinaceli, Spain. Realized in 3 different kind of wood: Mahogany, Maple and Ash. Part of the hull is white lacquered. The sails are made of linen fabric. The hooks and rings for sliding and fixing the ropes are made of brass. Belgium, 1940.
