C. N. F. SCIPIO, the sarcophagus having graduated and dentil cornice above Doric entablature with triglyphs, rosette metopes, and guttae above yellow painted incised inscription reading: CORNELIVS.LVCIVS.SCIPIO·BARBATVS.GNAIVOD.PATRE PROGNATVS.FORTIS.VIR.SAPIENSQVE.QVOIVS·FORMA·VIRTVTEI·PARISVMA FVIT.
