About the Item
1970s era surfboard by Santa Cruz shaper / surfer Joey Thomas, this example has a single foiled wooden fin, swallow tail, beak nose, down rail with a resin pin line along the rails configuration which was a popular shape by the influences from what was happening in Hawaii on the North Shore with shapers such as Dick Brewer and surfer / shaper Jerry Lopez who had some of the greatest impact on the lifestyle / activity. Thomas was part of the vanguard of the surfing culture in the Santa Cruz area and his shapes were in high demand and the best surfers of the area rode his boards.
