Antique English Style Nautical Paint Decorated Trunk as Cocktail Table

About the Item

A plank constructed trunk on a carved base. The lid with a fine sailing ship in an oval, the front with label VR (for Victoria Regina) and L.B. Gunner 1811, B. Deck with illustration of a cannon along with British flags. The inside with iron hinges and a left side compartment with a small drawer. L. 37 3/4", Depth 19 3/4", H. 19" Condition: There are signs of age including overall wear with stable age cracks and chips, finish and paint loss, and some stable open joinery to the planks which do not detract from the fine presentation.
