Brass letter holder with two compartments depicting vessel with unfurled sails, lost-wax casting, early 20th century English manufacture.
Measures 11.5x11x14.5 cm - inches 4.4x4.3x5.7.
The Vessel, developed from the galleon, became from the 17th century onward a major warship that spread from the Netherlands to be perfected by the Spanish, French navies and British.
