French Yachting Binoculars by Lemaire Fabt, Paris

About the Item

A meticulously polished and lacquered brass binocular with geared focal knob, sunshades, etc. The eye pieces are marked "Lemaire Fabt. Paris", Fabt is translated to "Manufactured in France". These glasses were enjoyed by yachtsmen, hunters, bird watchers, sportsmen, etc. Jacques Lemaire opened his firm in 1847, making military and civilian binoculars and opera glasses.
