Natural Purple Acorn Barnacle Cluster (4 lbs)

About the Item

Barnacles (CONCHYLEPES CONCHYLEPES) are wonderful crustaceans that inhabit all salt waters of the world! Barnacles are found everywhere along the seashore, as they attach to any solid surface that gets covered by water, such as boats, pilings, and rocks. The parietes can be either rough or smooth, and they are sometimes slightly folded. The basal margin of the shell is either straight or slightly sinuous. The colour is a pale shade of reddish or bluish purple, sometimes streaked longitudinally with a darker or lighter shade and sometimes with transverse bands of colour. Understanding the importance and having a strict sense of obligation regarding coral reef ecosystems and their ecology, we have confirmed our source suppliers have complied with the strict regulations placed on harvesting.
