Ship's Anemometer and Aerovane Repurposed as Kinetic Sculpture
About the Item
A ship's anemometer and aerovane used to measure wind speed and direction. These were mounted on top of large ships and connected to an instrument panel on the bridge. Old school technology. Once the brass and chrome are polished and the fiberglass tail repainted, these make a great kinetic sculpture to use outside, inside, on the porch, etc. The prop will spin with the wind and the tail will move with the wind direction. C. 1970's It has a nicely weighted 7" diameter base and the ability to be mounted on a post or platform if you desire, or it can simply sit on a table or pedestal outside and stay put.
