A Very Fine Large Size 19th Century Teak and Brass Ships Wheel

About the Item

A very fine 19th Century well figured teak and brass ships wheel of large proportions, beautifully hand carved with rich patination, grain and brass mounted throughout. This stunning nautical piece features eight elegant ring turned king cylindrical spokes with tapered handles, one king spoke handle is mounted with a decorative brass cap to indicate direction. The moulded outer wheel is inset with gorgeous brass banding to both sides and features a fabulous brass portrait of Commandant Jacques Yves Cousteau in profile, to the central hub.
