Sizable Pair of Jesus & Mary Bronze Wall Plaque Sculptures by Francis Corbeels

$1,828.87 per set

Rare pair of early 1900s bronze plaques by Fr. Corbeels (1888-1956). This sizable pair of bronze wall plaques is another one of our recent, great finds. Finding works of art by this skilled Belgian sculptor is a real challenge and at this moment we cannot find any of his sculptures for sale, anywhere in the world. What makes this pair extra special is that we cannot find any other religious sculptures made by this artisan. Francis Corbeels has beautifully captured the serene and wise facial features of Christ and the depth makes this perfectly cast bronze even more impressive. Mary who is slightly looking up (at the cross, we assume) also is beautifully serene in her mourning. The size, the excellent condition and the beautiful expression on the faces of these iconic Christian figures, makes these bronze plaques in relief truly marvelous. They could only have been made by a known and successful artist and we are proud to offer them to the 1stdibs community first. Thanks to the metal hooks on the back they can easily and safely be mounted on your wall. They will look divine no matter where you decide to hang them and they will never fail to impress, because of their beauty and deeper meaning. Our price for this bronze pair even includes perfect packing & worldwide delivery from our store to your door in just 4 days. Maximum diameter x depth 11.6 x 1.55 inches. Weight per plaque circa 2 kilogram or 4.5 pounds lbs. We have a passion for the unique, for quality, for stylish, for meaningful and for craftsmanship of years gone by. Your purchases will be extremely well packaged and we look forward to serving you (again). You can shop all our 900+ listings by pushing the button that reads 'View All From Seller'.
