About the Item
An antique 19th century Victorian period market scale by J.H. Piper & Co. of Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, England, UK. Cast iron base, bowl rest, interior shaft, decorative top and round tray base. Brass center shaft surround, balance beam, bowl, bowl supports, counter weight, tray supports and individual weights. Marble tray removes from round tray base for cleaning. Indiviual weights are 2 oz, 4 oz, 8 oz, 1 lb, 2 lb and 4 lb. Disassembles into twelve pieces for shipping.
Measures: 34.5 W 13.75 D 43.5 H, Weighs approximately: 64lbs.
Exceptionally good antique condition. Signs of light use. Balances correctly. Structurally sound and very sturdy. Condition rating: 9.0 / 10.0.
