Ships Compass by John Hand of Philadelphia

About the Item

Wing bridge compass from a United States Navy vessel. The gray military paint has been stripped and the entire binnacle and compass have been meticulously polished and lacquered. The glass domed compass has a heavy gimball. The binnacle head has a revolving dome. This is very thick brass, very heavy. Mounted to a thick varnished base.
