This 1920s english oak, copper and bronzed brass Dunhill table lighter neatly evokes an 18th century flintlock pistol in both form and function. When the trigger is pulled, the top opens and strikes a spark, lighting the wick. The piece is precision-crafted, its barrel and body made in hammered bronzed brass with a carved oak wood handle. Made by the renowned luxury brand Alfred Dunhill Limited (known and stylized simply as 'Dunhill') , the lighter bears markings indicating its authorship as well as its english origins.
Founded in 1893 and known for menswear, leather goods and accessories, Dunhill has a storied history of expert craftsmanship. This structurally sound and fully operational artifact embodies the Dunhill ethos of timeless, functional design and is a fine collectible example of early 20th century english design.
