Shepherd & Wooly Sheep Putz Toy Set Antique German Christmas 1900s, original Box

About the Item

Antique German set of eleven Putz stick-legged sheep with a shepherd boy and his dog. All of them are genuine antique German Christmas nativity scene figures. As they are all old, most show the expected signs of age and use. This is a fabulous set, an antique German Putz shepherd boy with dog and his woolly stick-legged sheep with long tails in a box that is displayed its age. The box has creased side flaps and one side flap has a tear, this is due to age. The shepherd boy is approximately 3.88 inches tall. The sheep have a sturdy stick leg construction, with all sheep having their original stick legs and have not been repaired. They all have hand-painted composition faces and fluffy long-tailed bodies with five red collars. The German Shepherd is made from composition and is approximately 2 1/8" high, 2 7/8" wide and 1 1/8" deep. The sheep are 2 1/2" high, 2 1/8" wide and 7/8" deep. The Measurments given in the dimensions section refers to the Box. This extraordinary set dates from around 1900. This is a nice addition to any Christmas Decoration or just for your collection of old German toys. You get a total of 13 Figurines and the box. so the set counts 14 items. Found at an Estate Sale in Nuremberg, Germany.
