Green Porphyry Obelisk
By Thomas Engelhart
Located in New York, NY
Signed and dated by artist on underside; Acrylic and shellac based inks on Ingres paper.
From architectural follies of the eighteenth-century to crystalline rock formations, Thomas Engelhart translates the angles and polished surfaces of ancient artifacts into hand-painted paper objects. A Charleston, South Carolina native, Engelhart began his career in fashion, studying at Studio Berçot in Paris in the 1990s. His intuitive eye and meticulous attention to detail were cultivated designing for famed houses such as Thierry Mugler and Hermès. “Paris gave me elegance, rigor, and an understanding of quality,” reflects the artist. By absorbing the French approach to fait à la main, Engelhart flourished upon his return to New York in 2017.
Engelhart’s papered obelisks and pyramid boxes are the result of a passion for antique curiosities...

Kazimir Screen Set by Colé, 3 Abstract patterns, decor dividers inspired to Art
By Julia Dodza
Located in Milan, Lombardy
Masterfully handcrafted in Italy, Kazimir screens, closed in a set composed by 3 single elements (Type A, Type B and Type C), are not only a perfect divider for minimalist or classic rooms, , but also a symbolic bridge, linking design to art, functionality to decoration. In fact the shapes of this screens are freely inspired on the figurative abstract works by the renowned painter Malevich, a pioneer of the geometric abstractionism of 20 the century Russian avant-garde. The geometric motif in black, white, red and green, of the abstract pattern is recalling the body of the characters in the renewed paintings named "Torso".
