Adão Coat Peg Small in Chestnut Wood Handcrafted in Portugal by Origin Made

About the Item

The Adão coat peg is hand turned from Portuguese chestnut wood by master wood turner Carlos Barbosa. In the true spirit of Origin, the coat peg is named after the craftsman who first made it, Adão Gomes. Designed by Pauline Deltour to be significant in size, the object has distinct concave faces to bring out a sculptural presence. Adão coat peg is available in two sizes, and finished with a natural wax coating. Material: Chestnut Wood As a handcrafted product, each piece is unique. Natural qualities of wood could result in variations in color tone, wood grain and the presence of medullary rays or knots. Observations of such differences across products or orders does not constitute a basis for order cancellation or product returns. Designed by Pauline Deltour, made by Carlos Barbosa. The Craftsman Carlos Barbosa and his two sons run a wood working factory in Paços de Ferreira. They produce high quality objects and furniture for both local architects and international clients. The unique thing about them is they stock a very large variety of Portuguese and imported hardwoods, and combine the best of hand and machine processes to make high quality products, in small to medium sized production runs. The Designer Pauline Deltour was born in 1983, in Landerneau, France. She graduated from les Arts Décoratifs in 2007 and has worked for 4 years for Konstantin Grcic in Munich, Germany. She has opened her very own studio in Paris in 2010. Distinguished by being both severe and delicate, its designs reflect a vocabulary which is characteristic of her own personality. Her precise hand, neat lines, carefully selected materials and colour ranges, and the way in which they come together, form the individual identity of this young French designer’s work. Emblematic, hard-hitting seduction is achieved through rare qualities which are as elemental to the design as they are challenging to implement. An iron fist in a velvet glove is how she drives all the projects she works on, which range from tableware to furniture for public and private spaces. Since March 2011, she collaborates with two partners under the name EN BANDE ORGANISÉE on interior architecture projects. Pauline Deltour passed away on September 10th 2021, we are honoured to have had the chance to collaborate with such a great designer. Care Instructions: Use a dry soft cloth Do not use household cleaners.
