About the Item
Arspect-Spectrum Coat rack Rare edition 1974, Essenhout Netherlands. We bought this rare coat rack from a sales representative's estate, which no longer works.
The coat rack is made at Arspect-Spectrum van Essen wood.
We have not been able to identify the designer.
Arspect
The company eventually went bankrupt in 1974, but made a new start with some former employees under the name Arspect that same year. They wanted to continue to carry a small number of the 'old' Spectrum furniture and supplemented the collection with new furniture. In addition, Arspect imported several Italian and Scandinavian collections.
Over the years, Arspect increasingly focused on contract furniture, neglecting the retail trade and contact with retailers. When a number of major clients disappeared in the course of the 1980s, Arspect was unable to absorb that loss and had to close its doors.
With many people becoming environmentally conscious, buying vintage furniture is all the rage right now. Promoting responsible environmental behavior in a home has long surpassed discussions of chemicals and food and now uses objects, materials and paints. As the industry explores various manufacturing technologies and promotes recycling, the growing popularity of vintage furniture and decor among the millennial generation is illuminating the road ahead.
