Fratelli Reguitti Sculptural Stained Maple Valet in the Style of Ico Parisi
About the Item
This Italian valet was designed by Fratelli Reguitti in the 1950s. This design is often mis-attributed to Ico Parisi, who used these valets for styling but never actually designed them.
Early example composed of a sculptural 'x' frame with hanger and change or cufflink holder with a double rack on the bottom for shoes and four caster wheels for easy mobility. The top bar (intended for hanging scarves, ties, or pants) can be extended by pulling out the brass rod.
Maple is in good, original condition retaining its original deep mahogany stain. It shows moderate wear (small gouges/scuffs), to the hanger and base areas, as shown. Metal bars on shoe rack shows light wear and tarnish.

It features a lovely, rich mahogany stained beech timber frame, brass hardware and rubber wheels. The whole unit is tight and solid, with fine surfaces and in excellent working condition. There are some signs of age of course. The shoe rails have lost their brass plating. Charmingly, a little remains as a hint of the previously flashy appearance. There are a few very minor dings and scuffs on the timber surfaces. There's a little wear to the finish on the shoulder ends of the hanger. A very minor bruise in the ridges of timber that run across the top of the stand, we carefully sanded the inside of the ridges to smooth away any uneven surface so that fabric will not catch.
