Here We are delighted to offer this Arts & Crafts/ Art Deco free standing magazine newspaper book rack, stand. Wonderful condition Art Deco floor standing bookcase. Made in the UK probably by J G Cracknell & Co under the brand name 'Homettes', Label to underneath: “Homettes” Reg. Features: angled book shelves above a bottom trough 1 compartments for holding magazines or newspapers 1 small shelf to the top for books. shaped sides Geometric detail at the top and on its base Two built in carry handles for easy movement when desired. Nice details at the top and at the bottom of the piece. nicely finished on all sides Beautiful oak tone Dated c. 1920-30. This compact antique oak magazine / newspaper rack and bookcase from the Art Deco period is the epitome of beautiful and useful. With lovely curved and straight edges and exquisite detailing synonymous with Art Deco design, this antique bookcase is well crafted and has been well cared for over the years. With slim proportions this would be a useful addition to many rooms around the home. Of delightful form and attractive presentation for the avid reader or maybe to be used with a different purpose, for example as a towel stand as i presented in 1 pic. Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks show fine grain interest and warm caramel hues. Condition: Excellent antique condition - wear commensurate with age. Solid of joint. No historic repairs or signs of woodworm. This fabulous piece has obviously been well cared for over the years.
